Born and raised in Woodstock, Maureen Ralph has spent a lifetime caring for people and serving the community she calls home. After completing her Nursing Degree (RN) right here in Woodstock, she began a career grounded in compassion, active listening and practical problem solving - the same values that have guided her throughout her years in public service. For 27 consecutive years, Maureen Ralph served as a dedicated municipal Councillor and Deputy Mayor for the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock.

During her tenure, she worked tirelessly to ensure residents' voices were heard, tax dollars were spent wisely, and decisions were made with fairness and transparency. Her leadership style has always been steady, values-based and focused on results that truly matter to people. With a deep commitment to community service, Maureen brings extensive experience to her campaign for municipal councillor, as she gained deep experience in budgets, infrastructure and long-term community planning. She helped guide major projects, including the planning and construction of a new arena, the transition of local police services, and significant community development, carefully balancing community needs with financial responsibility.

Over the years, she has served on a wide range of committees, including the Police Service Board, Erie Thames Hydro Board, Recreation Board and the  Ingersoll/Tillsonburg Hospital Board, just to name a few, where her collaborative approach and dedication strengthened local programs and policy. In addition to her committee work, she represented the community for three years on Oxford County Council, gaining valuable County-level governance experience and a broad perspective of municipal operations. Her record reflects a proven ability to listen, collaborate, and deliver results for residents.

Now retired and living back in Woodstock, Maureen is ready to bring her experience, enthusiasm and commitment to public service home to serve as a strong, caring and approachable voice on Woodstock City Council. Her priorities reflect what she has always stood for - transparent, accountable representation so residents can easily understand and engage with their local government. She will strive to bring compassionate leadership to address homelessness and mental health issues through collaboration and community partnerships, and practical, results-driven decision-making that ensures Woodstock continues to grow responsibly while maintaining the small-city character and connectedness that makes it special.

Maureen is now running for City Council in Woodstock because our city needs experienced, calm voices at the table – people who understand how City Hall works and who focus on real solutions instead of politics and drama. Maureen believes that leadership starts with listening. She is dedicated to building a city where every resident feels supported, respected and heard - because caring for our community isn't just her background, it is who she is.
